Before and After the NLI: A 3-Part Workshop
How to be recruited and sign the deal. For Student-Athlete Families & HS Coaches
College coaches receive messages from hundreds of recruits. How can YOU stand out in a sea of talent? Start by joining a new three-part recruiting intensive. I have recruited emerging athletes and coached them to become top 10 competitors in the world – I understand what you need to know about being recruited today.
The way coaches recruit and athletes get recruited has changed drastically in the last five years, especially with new NCAA rules, social media, and NIL deals. No matter what level of athlete, this intensive will help you stand out in an equally exhilarating and daunting journey.
BEFORE and AFTER the NLI: HOW TO GET RECRUITED AND SIGN THE DEAL
This stand-alone 3-part series is for recruits/their families and high school coaches who want to help their athletes take the next step. There is no prerequisite to be part of the 3-week intensive beyond a curiosity about the process and a desire to learn what it takes to become an NCAA athlete! Starting December 28, every Thursday you will get first-hand knowledge to prepare you (or your athlete) for their first official visit, questions to ask prospective coaches, the times it takes to get a D1 scholarship, and more!
THE BREAKDOWN:
Every week (for three weeks) I will drop a new in-depth video giving recruits and coaches unparalleled access to the recruiting process available for anyone to purchase. All paid/founding subscribers of the SIC Newsletter will get a written recruiting intensive post for that week, including access to the comment section where participants’ questions will be answered. And I can give feedback, clarification, and encouragement when needed.
Hopefully, the comment section will be a helpful and enjoyable additional resource for those paid/founding subscribers to get into the nitty-gritty of the topics/discussions.
Regular Sunday posts will still be posted every two weeks.
Upgrade your subscription today! The video presentations will be available for purchase on my website each week and linked in each new post.

Interested? To stay in the know and get first access, become a paid subscriber to the SIC Newsletter. The written intensives/workshops will only be for paid and founding members of the SIC Community. So, if you are a free subscriber and want in-depth, exclusive recruiting content then now is the time to sign up (and you’ll get access to all previous paid posts). If you only want the video presentations, they will drop each week and will be linked!
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:
· NCAA recruiting rules that you should know and coaches must follow
· What times it takes to run in the Power 5 Conferences (and what to do if you don’t meet those times)
· How recruits can write a strong, first email to coaches to stand out in a sea of recruits
· How to use social media as a recruiting tool
· Official vs. unofficial (is one worth more than the other?)
· Interest from coaches vs. being dragged along
· What coaches are and are not looking for in recruits
· A worksheet for recruits to discover what they really want in a university program
· Do grades really matter?
· Difference between a full scholarship and stacked scholarships
· Discussions about COA stipends and Alston money (money in your pocket)
· The benefits (and drawbacks) to signing on signing day
· Advice for parents and recruits to have open conversations during the recruiting process
· Learn what to do if you change your mind or if the coach leaves before school starts. And how the transfer portal affects you.
This 3-PART series will grow and evolve as necessary once it begins! The main thing I want is to help YOU get to where you DESERVE to be. I want to see you succeed and I believe these tools and information will get you there. Success is about choices, and this choice can get you to the NLI you’ve always dreamed of signing (or maybe better!).
If you have a question, leave it in the comment section (open to all subscribers)!
Remember, the first week kicks off Dec. 28 with a featured video drop and adjacent post. I’ll see you then!
